OhGrocer ("we", "us", "our") provides a mobile app that helps you track groceries, scan barcodes and receipts, manage your shelf, and optionally share pantries with others. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") cover your use of our app and services.

By downloading or using OhGrocer, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Accepting These Terms

By using OhGrocer, you confirm that:

• You've read and agree to these Terms
• You're at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country)
• You're legally allowed to use the app

2. What OhGrocer Does

OhGrocer helps you track your groceries and reduce food waste. Main features include:

• Adding grocery items with expiry dates
• Scanning barcodes to look up product info
• Scanning receipts to automatically extract items
• Recipe suggestions based on what you have in your pantry
• Voice input for hands-free entry
• Expiry reminders (local notifications)
• Shared pantries for families or housemates
• Waste tracking analytics

We provide the app "as is". That means we work hard to keep it running smoothly, but we can't guarantee it will be perfect all the time.

3. Who Can Use the App

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use OhGrocer.

To use the app, you need an account: sign in with your Google account, or create one with your email address and a password. You're responsible for keeping your account (including your password) secure and for everything that happens under your account.

4. Your Responsibilities

When using OhGrocer, you agree not to:

• Use the app for anything illegal
• Try to access someone else's account or our systems without permission
• Interfere with the app's operation
• Upload viruses or harmful code
• Try to reverse-engineer or copy the app
• Use bots or automated tools to access the app

4.1 Fair Use of AI Receipt Parsing

Receipt scanning uses an AI service to turn the text extracted from your receipt into grocery items, and it costs us money to run. To keep it available for everyone:

• Don't spam or abuse the receipt scanning feature (e.g., sending automated requests)
• Don't try to reverse-engineer or exploit the AI system
• We reserve the right to limit, throttle, or disable AI access for accounts that exceed fair usage limits
• We may ban accounts that deliberately abuse this feature

5. Using the App Responsibly

OhGrocer is designed for personal and household use. You can:

• Track your own groceries
• Invite trusted people to shared pantries
• Scan barcodes and receipts for your own management

Please don't use the app for commercial inventory management or share sensitive personal information through shared pantry notes.

6. Shared Pantries

Shared pantries let you collaborate on a grocery list with people you invite. By using this feature:

• You're responsible for who you invite
• Depending on the permissions they have, invited members can add, edit, and delete items (some members may have view-only access)
• Please don't share inappropriate content through shared pantries
• We may disable shared pantry access for misuse

Please be mindful: anything you add to a shared pantry is visible to everyone in that pantry.

7. Who Owns What

The app: OhGrocer (its code, design, branding, and name) belongs to us. You're allowed to use it, but you can't copy, modify, or sell it without our permission.

Your data: Your grocery items, photos, and notes belong to you. We just store them so the app can work. If you give us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the app.

8. Other Services

OhGrocer relies on external service providers for sign-in, hosting, email, barcode lookup, AI receipt parsing, subscriptions and advertising. Our Privacy Policy explains what each kind of provider receives.

Barcode product data comes from Open Food Facts, made available under the Open Database License.

These providers have their own terms, which we encourage you to review. We're not responsible for how they handle your data.

9. Your Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the app, you agree to the practices described there.

10. Our Legal Responsibility

This includes things like:

• Loss of your data
• Food spoilage if you miss an expiry reminder (we're a tool, not a guarantee)
• Inaccurate barcode or receipt results
• Temporary downtime or service interruptions
• Unauthorized access to your account

If you paid for anything in the app (like premium features), our total liability won't exceed what you paid.

11. Disclaimers

We don't guarantee that:

• The app will meet all your needs
• It will always work without interruptions or errors
• The information it provides (like expiry dates) is 100% accurate

Food safety: OhGrocer is a tracking tool, not a food safety device. Expiry dates are based on what you enter and may not reflect actual food safety. Always use your best judgment about food. We're not responsible for foodborne illness or spoilage.

11a. AI-Assisted Receipt Parsing

When you scan a receipt, an AI service reads the extracted text and turns it into grocery items (names, quantities, and expiry-date estimates). Please be aware:

• AI can make mistakes. It may misread item names, quantities, prices, or dates, especially on faded, handwritten, or unusually formatted receipts.
• You confirm before it's saved. The app always shows you the parsed items on a review screen before anything is added to your shelf. Check them and correct anything that's wrong.
• Expiry-date estimates are not food-safety advice. If a suggested expiry date looks off, use your own judgment or the manufacturer's guidance instead.
• Use at your own risk. We are not liable for any consequences of relying on unreviewed or inaccurate AI-parsed data.

Recipe suggestions do not use AI. They are matched from our own recipe database against the items on your shelf. See our Privacy Policy for details.

11b. Third-Party Content

Item and recipe images come from third-party services (Pixabay and Unsplash) under their respective licenses, or are generated as a lettered placeholder (via placehold.co) when no photo is available. We do not claim ownership over third-party photography. These images are provided "as is" without any guarantees.

12. Ending Your Use

By you: You can stop using the app anytime. To delete your account and data, use Profile → Delete Account in the app (immediate), submit a request at ohgrocer.com/delete-account, or email support@ohgrocer.com.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or if we need to stop providing the service (we'll give you reasonable notice if possible).

13. Legal Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes will be resolved in Malaysian courts. If you're a consumer in another country, you may have additional legal rights under your local laws.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know through the app or by email. If you don't agree with the changes, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
